[Asahi doesn't even hesitate. He's thoroughly distracted from their awkward moment regarding the kiss, too busy trying to escape Nishinoya's tickling swarm. But since he's still half caught under the blankets and losing space to squirm out of the way, he's pretty much trapped. There's nothing but loud, sometimes squeaking laughter from the older boy with his wheezed out words.]
I'm sorry--I'm sorry! S-stop, begging now! B-begging a lot!!
[He tries to wrap both arms around his sides to wiggle away, almost trying to morph into the space under his pillow.]
That means I win! [Rolling off Asahi, Nishinoya takes a seat next to the poor miserable bundle of his ace and crosses his arms over his chest, looking very expectant for some kind of reward.]
[He heaves in a deep breath and just sighs softly, trying to calm himself down from that attack. But Nishinoya's question is quick to remind him why that happened to begin with, and Asahi just grumbles, slowly sliding back on the bed--he's about to corner himself against the wall.]
[Oh no, Asahi's gotten scared and worried all over again. Nishinoya put too much effort into trying to get his mind off the whole kissing thing, he doesn't need him getting upset. However it's a very decent question to bring up, and for some reason, Noya doesn't know why his immediate answer isn't "no".
Does he not like the fact that Asahi kissed him? Obviously. Does he not want to think about it? Of course? But why does actually going through with that bother him just slightly?
It feels weird to have a single moment in his life that he regrets, especially one involving Asahi, but if it would make him feel better to just ignore that the whole thing happened then... Nishinoya can't find a reason to say no.
He feels strangely cornered himself, but as he stares down at the bed sheets, Nishinoya ignores the heat returning to his face as he nods.]
Yeah, that's fine.
[If it'll make Asahi feel better, then he'll do it. He'll just have to get a proper answer somewhere else.]
[Asahi pauses only when he reaches the wall, waiting for Nishinoya's reply. The fact that it's so subdued and calm, after his complete invasion of Asahi's space, actually bothers him a lot more than the reply. As much as he wants to just ignore it, he... honestly can't. Especially knowing they'd tiptoe around it all day.
There's a soft sigh, and he shifts, finally sitting up a little.]
...no, it's not fine.
[Though it takes him a moment longer to talk. He takes a few seconds to just build up his bravery, and to formulate something that makes sense in his mind.]
...Nishinoya. See, uh... There's this mistletoe above you right now. It's weird, but... when I saw it, I just felt like I had... h-had... to kiss you.
[His face grows increasingly more and more red as he speaks, and he just bows his head in.] S-sorry. It's really embarassing! I'm sorry!
[Asahi really can't make up his mind about what he wants to do. It's getting really exasperating, and Nishinoya is close to just deciding to leave the room so Asahi can be alone for a bit. He'd might as well get up now that he's awake. But Asahi continues.
And says something so incredibly stupid that Nishinoya can only reply with:]
What?
[He can't be serious, can he? There's mistletoe over his head? On the ceiling? Who would even put that there? Maybe Asahi's hallucinating from being tickled. He didn't get enough oxygen in his lungs to his brain and so he's light-headed and seeing things. And so Nishinoya looks up, expecting to see nothing at all hanging over his head.
Except he does. Not on the ceiling but literally over his head.]
[He waits, red-faced and feeling terrible, as Nishinoya affixes him with a look that can only read as follows: Asahi, you're a goddamn idiot. He's ready to apologize again, now wondering if he's just gone completely mental, tripping out on something and possibly dreaming, but... when Nishinoya finally looks up-- it's a sight to behold.
There's just something a little bewildering and amazing to watch Nishinoya bat at something he just can't reach, but it makes him fight back a laugh. This place is ridiculous. And the more he stares, the more he feels that urge pooling in his chest again. He swallows it down, but scoots closer anyway.]
Let me try...
[But as he reaches up, he realizes he can't quite grab it himself. Instead, the urge hits again, as he swipes it a second time, and he just leans in to place another small kiss on Nishinoya's lips.]
[Watching him at that moment is essentially like watching a kitten try to snatch at a toy held too high up for it to reach, however for Nishinoya it's frustrating and not at all fun. Eventually he starts to think he'd might as well try to stand up to see if that'll make much of a difference until Asahi offers his own assistance.
Nishinoya is terribly embarrassed, but it looks like he'll need help, so he settles down with a pout and just waits to see if Asahi will be of any use.
Thanks, Asa--
[Except the only thing Asahi helps in doing is making Nishinoya even more embarrassed because he's kissing him again. He panics again, body stiffening up, but this time Nishinoya doesn't shove Asahi away as he's just too damn shocked over the fact that Asahi is kissing him again and it's more than likely because of some stupid plant stuck over his head that he can't get rid of oh my god this is the worst day of his life.]
[This is probably the first and only time Asahi's reactions have ever properly conveyed Nishinoya's own feelings, because he can't help but want to just find a corner and hide in it for the rest of the day. But he manages to do something better than that: he just goes.]
I-I-I I'm-- I'M GONNA WALK THE DOGS BYE!!
[He practically leaps out of the bed, almost tripping over his saggy pajama pants (wearing an extra larger size helps keep him warmer and more cozy, okay?) before he reaches the door, yanks it open and just runs out of the bedroom.
This is of course ignoring the fact that he hasn't changed, which means if he intends to walk the dogs, he'll be doing it in his pajamas. Which surprise, he's not going to do, he just needs a breath of fresh air and to find a place that won't remind him that Asahi has just kissed him two times and he feels like nothing in his life makes sense anymore.]

Now tell me what that was all about just now!

Can't we just pretend it didn't happen?

[Nishinoya reaches up to try to yank down the weird plant floating in the air, but it seems to dart right up out of his reach.]
WHAT THE HELL!
[He swipes again, and again, and again, but each time Nishinoya can't get a hold of it.]

--oof, ow...
[But that doesn't deter the large dork from grabbing onto his head and burrowing his face into the pillow.]
I'M SO SORRY!! I--I didn't even realize-- I just-- I'm sorryyyy!!
[But everything sounds like a mumbled, sad mess in the cushions. It doesn't deter him from his continued slew of apologies though.]
